Penfield Little League Announces Registration for 2009
Yes, the online registration process is open for registering your child to play organizedbaseball in the 2009 season with Penfield Little League.
Opening Day May 2rd 2009!
Two things to do prior to going online to register your children!
1. Determine League Age of each player you will register for PLL.
The simplest way to determine League Age is to ask how old will your child be on the following dates. December 31, 2008 to register for Girls Softball(This program is open to only females) Example: Birth date 8/8/96 League age is 12 April 30, 2009 to register for Baseball. (The Baseball Program is open to both male and female players) Example Birth date 5/1/97 League Age would be 11
2. Read the descriptions of each level of play, that is provided below.
Level of Play Descriptions:
Instructional Tee-Ball League Age 5 (Born on or between May 1, 2003 and April 30, 2004)
One session each week would consist of Instruction and scripted drills that can be used as homework for parents to work with player offline. Duration of session to be 75 to 90 minutes and held on a weekday to be determined by the Supervisor based on field availability. Second session would be held on Saturdays and consist of a four (4) inning Tee Ball game, not to exceed 90 minutes.
Registration fee $70 plus Fund Raiser fee of $20 for a total of $90. ( Players registering for this level are included in Family Plan that has discounts for multiple same family registrations.)
Tee-Ball League League Age 6. (Born on or between May 1, 2002 and April 30, 2003)
Two scheduled games per week:
First Game each week would be a four-inning game preceded by 30 minutes of baseball drills. Second game each week would consist of a five (5)-inning game.
Both game sessions, not to exceed 1.5 hours of elapsed time! Usually one game during the week, with second game on Saturday!
Registration Fee $70 plus $20 Fund Raiser, Total $90.
Mini League League Age 7 (Born on or between May 1, 2001 and April 30, 2002)
Two scheduled games per week.
The Mechanical Pitching Machine would be utilized during the first half of the Regular Season. Second half of the regular season, will include player pitching, Manager/Coach’s pitching and or the continued use of the mechanical pitching machine.
Registration Fee $70 plus $20 Fund Raiser Fee equals total of $90!
Border League League Age 8 (Born on or between May 1, 2000 and April 30, 2001)
Combination of Machine Pitch and Player Pitch, played on Minors size field. (60ft base paths)
Registration Fee $70 plus $20 Fund Raiser Fee equals total of $90!
Majors/International Divisions for League Age 9 thru 12 players.
Two distinct levels within each of the two Divisions entitled as follows: International 9/10 and International 11/12, Majors 9/10 and Majors 11/12.
International Division 9/10
League Age 9 Born on or between May 1, 1999 and April 30, 2000,
League Age 10 Born on or between May 1, 1998 and April 30, 1999
A tryout is not required, Teams are formed based on previous years player evaluation, school attended and geographical neighborhood. 2 games per week based on a random schedule where one game is played during the week and the second game scheduled for the weekend.
Major Division 9/10 . League Age 9 Born on or between May 1, 1999 and April 30, 2000,
League Age 10 Born on or between May 1, 1998 and April 30, 1999
A tryout is required to participate in this division. Once registered a tryout will be scheduled on either January 3rd or January 10th of 2009. Players will be drafted to one of the eight (8) existing teams, based on their tryout and prior year player evaluation. Players not drafted will be assigned to the International 9/10 League.
International Division 11/12 League Age 11 Born on or between the dates of May 1, 1997 and April 30, 1998. League Age 12 Born on or between the dates of May 1, 1996 and April 30, 1997

Major Division 11/12 League Age 11 Born on or between the dates of May 1, 1997 and April 30, 1998. League Age 12 Born on or between the dates of May 1, 1996 and April 30, 1997
A tryout is required to participate in this division. Once registered a tryout will be scheduled on either January 3rd or January 10th of 2009. Players will be drafted to one of the ten (10) existing teams, based on their tryout and prior year player evaluation. Players not drfted will be assigned to the International 11/12 Division.
Major Division Tryouts: Tryouts for both the 9/10 and 11/12 Major Divisions will be held on January 3th and January 10th in the Bay Trail Middle School Gym. Upon registering for either the Majors 9/10 or the Majors 11/12 for the first time, you will receive an email in the near future with an attached Fact Sheet designating a date and time for your tryout. Please register early to reserve your tryout date and time.
International Division will be a mirror image of the Majors, but will not require a tryout.
Players in this League Age level have the option of choosing to tryout for their League Age appropriate level of play in the Majors Division or choosing not to tryout and being assigned to a League Age appropriate level in the International Division. Those choosing to tryout and that are not selected to play in the Majors Division will be assigned automatically to the International Division.
Registration Fee $70, plus Umpire Fee of $55, for a Total of $125, to register for these levels of play!
Junior League: League Age 13 Born on or between the dates of May 1, 1995 and April 30, 1996, League Age 14 Born on or between the dates of May 1, 1994 and April 30, 1995 A Draft will be used to populate the teams competing at the Red, White and Blue Levels of the District 4 Travel League for League Age 13 & 14-year-old players. A tryout to evaluate each player will be required. The number of registered players will determine the number of teams and roster level for each team.
Registration Fee $70, plus Umpire Fee of $55, for a Total of $125, to register for this level of play
Senior League: League Age 15 Born on or between the dates of May 1, 1993 and April 30, 1994. League Age 16 Born on or between the dates of May 1, 1992 and April 30, 1993 An Annual Draft will be used to populate the teams for the Senior League. The number of registered players would determine the number of teams and roster level for each team.
Registration Fee $70, plus Umpire Fee of $55, for a Total of $125, to register for this level of play
Big League:Would consist of all League Age 16 Born on or between the dates of May 1, 1992 and April 30, 1993. League Age 17 Born on or between the dates of May 1, 1991 and April 30, 1992, League Age 18 Born on or between the dates of May 1, 1990 and April 30, 1991. League Age 16 who have completed their Senior League Regular Season and Tournament Season if selected to a Senior League Tournament Team will be allowed to play Big League at no additional expense. League Age 16 players must play Seniors to be eligible for Big League.. The number of teams will depend upon the number of registered players in the League Ages listed above. If necessary the Big League Supervisor will hold tryouts and use an Annual Draft to populate the team or teams in the Big League Program.

Families with Multiple Player registering with Penfield Little League, are given a discount on the Registration Fees. The Family Registration package is as follows:
First child $70, Second Child $60, Third Child $50, any additional family members registered for PLL will pay $0. All other fees Umpire and Fund Raiser Fees are required to be paid for Multiple Player Families.
Penfield Little League will partially or fully waive the fees if for any reason the fees required to register for Penfield Little League would impose a financial hardship on the family that would prevent them from registering with Penfield Little League.
Please register before December 31st 2008 and avoid the late fee of $25. The online system allows you to open and account with Penfield Little League, register your child and then return at a later date and make payment of the required fees. The Board of Directors has set roster limits for all teams at all levels of play, by registering before December 31, 2008; you afford us the opportunity to find Managers and Coaches, Form Teams, and Schedule games in an orderly fashion.
The Registration information that was when you registered for 2008 can be accessed by using your logon ID (email address) and the password that you selected whe you registered in 2008. Once you access your information, you will just perform an edit to make sure we have updated information, make payment and your child is registered for another season of PLL Baseball. If you have forgotten your password, you can click on the link indicated for forgotten password and an email will be sent giving you a link to the system, that will allow you to reset your password. This email will arrive within 5 minutes time, but the link contained in the email is only good for one hour for security reasons.
