D-Cats Denied Ability to Play in 10U NSA KY State Tournament A disappointed 10U Kentucky Diamond Cats team were denied to play in their own 10u NSA KY State Tournament four days prior to the event. The Diamond Cats were the only appointed "A" team signed up for the tournament. The sanction would not combine the "A" and "B" divisions. It was stated the B division teams would not all agree to play up so the D-Cats could participate. So the D-Cats rolled with the punches to make something good of a bad situation. In preparation for the NSA "A" World Series, the D-Cats held their heads up high and played up in 12U. The girls made a very strong showing with some very close scoring ballgames against the BatCats and Louisville Lady Sluggers. The D-Cats defeated the Kentucky Mustangs. The D-Cats proved they were worthy of respect from the older competitors. Thank you 12U for the good competition. Monday, June 23 D-Cats Go Undefeated to Win USSSA KY State Tournament! In bracket play the girls defeated the X-Plosion 11-1; only to come out flat against the Indy Edge losing 4-3. The D-Cats clawed their way out of the losers bracket, defeating the Cincy Doom 21-4. The girls would now have to beat the Indy Edge twice to win the championship. After winning the first game 10-1, the atmosphere became heated with false accusations regarding the girls ages. The birth certificates were presented and confirmed ....and the county sheriff was on standby. The D-Cats were fired up and it showed as they defeated the Indy Edge 10-3 to win the championship. The phenomenal pitching, outstanding defense and big sticks contributed to the win. The drive, determination and heart & soul of these 10 year old girls paid off once again. No one can take away your earned success with untrue, mean spirited statements. The D-Cats will continue to work hard in preparation for the World Series.
